'A hole lotta love' is a small cafe situated in Koramangla, 5th Block. It is diagonally opposite to Jyoti Niwas College. It was a chance visit as we actually planned to eat at Truffles, but there was 45 minutes waiting time and we were way too hungry to wait. You have to climb the staircase since it is situated on the first floor. The ambience was good, exactly what you want in such a cafe with music playing in the background. We took a table in the balcony. Sitting there, expectations weren’t high. I ordered a chicken steak burger for myself and a veg burger for my friend (there weren’t many vegetarian options for my friend but we anyways asked the waiter for a veg burger). The service time was acceptable. Now coming on to the food... First the chicken steak burger, the plate consisted of the burger along with some fried potato chips as sides. The burger had the chicken steak and coleslaw. The coleslaw in the burger nicely complemented the chicken which was cooked to perfection. You won’t even feel the need to add ketchup which is not the case usually with all the McDonalds and the KFCs (though I am a big fan of the KFC zinger burger). I just added some pepper and the burger was perfect. The buns were soft and fresh and all the components of the burger worked nicely with each other. The fried potato chips provided a good crunch with the burger. As is usual with cafes like these, the vegetarian stuff did not quite match up to the chicken burger and was decent at best, if not great. It was in fact similar to the chicken burger replacing the chicken with aloo patty. And my friend complained the burger being a bit messy, but that is just the way a burger is supposed to be. No complaints from my end. I loved it. We still weren’t full, so we ordered the veg toast (it gives an option of 4 toppings to choose from like cheese, capsicum, jalapenos etc.) and a chocolate waffle. The toast was good, but it can only be ordered if you are not very hungry. There were two bread toasts with the toppings I selected - cheese, jalapenos, chillies and red onions. On the other hand, the waffle tasted a bit like chocolate pastry and was softer than what waffles are. They provide maple syrup along with the waffle but use it in small amounts or the waffle becomes too sweet. The whole experience... The complete experience was way better than our expectations. The service was prompt and the ambience was good. The food, I loved it and it wasn’t very expensive either. We ordered 4 items from the menu and the final bill amounted to 480 rupees. I might as well try some more dishes over there. A next visit is definitely on the cards.
